Docente: Dr. Ernesto F. Eiroa (IAFE, CONICET-UBA)

Modalidad: virtual

El curso está dirigido a estudiantes de doctorado en astronomía o en
física, otorgando 3.5 créditos para aquellos pertenecientes a la FCAG.
Otros interesados también pueden cursarla como oyentes.

Horario tentativo: miércoles y viernes, de 16 a 19 hs.

Chair of Applied Geophysics

PhD position The Department of Applied Geosciences and Geophysics, Chair of
Applied Geophysics, invites applications for a full-time
4-years limited-term University Assistant. The minimum salary is €
2.971,50 (14 x per year, pay scale B1 according to Uni-KV) plus benefits.
The actual salary may vary depending on experience.

The successful candidate holds a Master of Science degree in geophysics or
a similar discipline and has a solid mathematical and physical
background in wave propagation. He/she is familiar with at least one
programming language. Experience with the processing and the inversion
of seismic data on HPC architecture is an advantage. We expect the
candidate to be highly motivated and interested to publish the results of
his/her PhD-research in a scientific journal.

The focus of the work is the application of full waveform inversion to an
exploration seismic dataset.

    POST DOC POSITIONS IN THE FIELD OF DIFFUSE X-RAY EMISSION

        I would appreciate if you could bring this opportunity to the

     One post doc position is open as part of the “Hot Milk”
project, funded by the European Research Council and aimed at
characterising the hot phase of the Milky Way.
     The position is available at the Osservatorio Astronomico di Brera
(INAF). The successful applicant will have the privilege
to work on X-ray emission from the Galactic center (with e.g., XMM,
Chandra, NuSTAR, etc). 
     Applications from non-X-ray experts are also encouraged.
