PhD position The Department of Applied Geosciences and Geophysics, Chair of Applied Geophysics, invites applications for a full-time<br>
4-years limited-term University Assistant. The minimum salary is € 2.971,50 (14 x per year, pay scale B1 according to Uni-KV) plus benefits.<br>
The actual salary may vary depending on experience.<br>
<br>
The successful candidate holds a Master of Science degree in geophysics or a similar discipline and has a solid mathematical and physical<br>
background in wave propagation. He/she is familiar with at least one programming language. Experience with the processing and the inversion<br>
of seismic data on HPC architecture is an advantage. We expect the candidate to be highly motivated and interested to publish the results of<br>
his/her PhD-research in a scientific journal.<br>
<br>
The focus of the work is the application of full waveform inversion to an exploration seismic dataset.<br>
<br>
