La Comisión Fulbright y Ministerio de Educación de la Nación otorgarán
becas de
posgrado a graduados argentinos de la educación superior
interesados en continuar su formación mediante maestrías y
doctorados en universidades de los Estados Unidos.

PROGRAMA ESCALA DE ESTUDIANTES DE POSGRADO
     

    El Programa ESCALA de Estudiantes de Posgrado de AUGM
promueve la cooperación y la integración de las Universidades que
la conforman, a través de la promoción de la movilidad de los
estudiantes regulares de maestrías y doctorados, para cursar un
período académico en otra Universidad Miembro de la Asociación a
   partir de agosto de 2022.

   POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIPS TO SUPPORT THE 4MOST CHANCES PROJECT IN CHILE. 

   The CHANCES collaboration is welcoming applications for sponsoring 3-year
[3]FONDECYT[4]  (https://www.anid.cl/concursos/concurso/?id=1071)
postdoctoral grants, which include a competitive salary and individually
managed funding for travel, publications, equipment and health insurance. 

   CHANCES[5] (CHileAN Cluster galaxy Evolution Survey) is a large 4MOST[6]
community program that will obtain spectra for galaxies in and around 150
clusters over the last 4 Gyr of cosmic time, covering the far outskirts of
clusters. This survey will provide legacy spectroscopic support  for
eROSITA, allowing the study of galaxy pre-processing in smaller groups and
filaments prior infall into the clusters, and it will push cluster galaxy
evolution studies to the dwarf galaxy regime (10⁸ -10⁹ Msun) where
environment is expected to play a major role. At the same time, CHANCES
will harness background QSO sight lines in order to probe the effect of
clusters on the gaseous content of galaxies at z>0.35. 

   The CHANCES team, although international, has a large Chilean component,
spanning a range of institutes, including Universidad de Atacama,
Universidad de La Serena, Universidad de Valparaíso, Pontificia
Universidad Católica de Valparaíso, Universidad de Concepción.

   Interested applicants should send an email to (chris.haines en uda.cl and
amonachesi en userena.cl) before April 12 (or as early as possible) with: a
motivation letter that mentions research interests (1 page), a CV, the name
of the prefered sponsor(s) of choice, and the contact details of 3
potential references. After an initial evaluation, selected applicants will
prepare the full [3]FONDECYT[4]  postdoctoral grant application with their
sponsor, which should be submitted before 28 of April. 

   The selected postdocs will have guaranteed access to the 4MOST CHANCES
data, and they will also be able to apply as PI to all professional
observatories operating in Chile, including ALMA, ESO, Gemini-S and
Magellan telescopes and are encouraged to lead their own projects and/or
join ongoing efforts, according to their preference. 

   Note that FONDECYT fellowships only accept applications from recent PhD
recipients (PhD obtained after 1 January 2019). This period is extended
backward by one year per child, for women who had children after January
2019.
