I would like to draw your attention to the following PhD scholarship scheme
for projects in Asteroseismology/Milky Way science and artificial
intelligence/machine learning. Up to two scholarships are up for grabs to
commence in 2020.

Apply website above is 12 July 2019. <=
The Scientia scholarships are for new PhD scholars of exceptional quality
to
work on research projects aligned with UNSW’s ten year strategy. These
prestigious scholarships offer unique benefits, individualised support and
guaranteed funding to reach your personal development goals.
Specifically, they include:
$41,209 a year stipend (living allowance) for four years (tax free).
Tuition fees covered for the full 4 year period
Up to $10,000 per year to build your career, support your international
research collaborations.
Candidates need to have a strong background in astro/physics, and
preferably
have a good understanding about one or more of the following subfields:
asteroseismology, stellar evolution, and the evolution of the Milky Way.
Further, the candidate should have strong computer programming skills and
analytical skills with experience in writing their own analysis software to
analyse large complex datasets.
Broad rule of thumb: If your latest 1-2 years of marks puts you in the top
10% of your student cohort and/or you have published your research in
respected peer-reviewed journals or have relevant experiences in industry,
you should be in a good position to attract one of these scholarships.
