Por favor se ruega dar difusión al siguiente mensaje de la Presidenta de
IAU:

*Dark skies*The night sky is important to us all, and as you know, the IAU
is involved in dark and quiet sky protection through our Working Group of
that name as well as our Center (CPS). I call your attention to a new IUCN
(International Union for the Conservation of Nature) publication, *The
world at night : preserving natural darkness for heritage conservation and
night sky appreciation*, endorsed by the IAU and co-authored by a team
including (among others) former IAU Vice President John Hearnshaw and IAU
members Clive Ruggles and John Barentine. This report describes light
pollution and its impacts across the globe. It also summarizes the lessons
learned from certified dark sky sites. The free download is here:

Best wishes,
Debra Elmegreen
IAU President
