SUPERNOVA 2007ca IN MCG -02-34-61
     J. M. Silverman, T. N. Steele, M. Moore, and A. V. Filippenko,
University of California, Berkeley, report that inspection of CCD spectra
(range 330-1020 nm), obtained on Apr. 26 UT with the Shane 3-m reflector
(+ Kast spectrograph) at Lick Observatory, shows that 2007ca (CBET 945) is
a type-Ia supernova near maximum brightness.  Removing the host-galaxy
recession velocity of 4217 km/s (Catinella et al. 2005, A.J. 130, 1037),
the minimum of the Si II 635.5-nm absorption feature is found to be
blueshifted by 12550 km/s.
