SUPERNOVA 2006dd IN NGC 1316
     M. Salvo, J. Blackman, B. Schmidt, and M. Bessell, Australian
National University (ANU), report that a spectrogram (range 310-530
nm) of SN 2006dd (cf. IAUC 8723, CBET 554), obtained on June 21.81
UT with the ANU 2.3-m telescope (+ DBS), shows features typical of
a type-Ia supernova around maximum light.
