We are pleased to announce that the IV VISCACHA meeting will take place 
at UFABC, Santo André, Brazil from 6-11 August 2022. Registration is now 
officially open and the conference website is released:

even if you did not fill in the pre-registration form you are welcome to 
register now. The pre-registration is not a condition for the registration.

*Financial support application*

We applied for financial support with the Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa 
do Estado de São Paulo (FAPESP).
However, we don't know when we will recieve their answer, it may be as 
late as only a month before the meeting. Therefore, we cannot count on 
this support, and we strongly recommend you to look for support from 
other sources.
Participants from São Paulo state who do not have any funding sources 
can request financial support to the LOC [viscacha.project en gmail.com]. 
There will be limited resources from FAPESP, depending on FAPESP 
approval. The LOC recommends that if you intend to apply for this, 
please make a full registration now and send your request to the LOC.

*Abstract submission and registration **

The meeting is planned to have approximately 12 talks, 2 round tables 
and 3 sprint sessions between Monday and Wednesday (no posters). 
Thursday and Friday will be dedicated to collaborative work having all 
experts together, which makes it more efficient.

We encourage everyone to submit an abstract for a talk. If you think 
that your contribution is not developed enough for a talk, feel free to 
contact us in advance at viscacha.project en gmail.com. It may be that your 
contribution is indeed valid and useful for the discussions, as this is 
a collaboration meeting.

The deadline for registration with an abstract is 15/Jun.

If you still do not want to present a talk, but would like to 
participate, you are more than welcome. The round tables, sprint
sessions and collaborative environment will benefit a lot from your 
participation.

The deadline for registration without an abstract is 03/Jul.

The registration fee is R$150 for undergraduate or masters students, 
R$250 for PhD students, R$400 for post-docs, R$600 for faculty. For 
non-members of the VISCACHA collaboration, the registration fee is
according to their category plus R$50 extra. The registration fee must 
be paid upon arrival.

*Logistics: flights and hotel *

We strongly recommend you to book your flights as soon as possible, 
because the prices are increasing fast. However, if you depend upon 
support from FAPESP, you can only buy it after we have their approval. 
Please contact the LOC if this is your case.
Do not book any hotel for now, because we are talking to the nearby 
options to try a good agreement for all the participants.
