Charla/Seminario Dr. Martino Foschi (Investigador Universidad Oxford). 
Abajo un resumen del trabajo del Dr. Foschi (en inglés) y un link a su

Dr. Foschi research focuses in the migration and accumulation of 
hydrocarbons in commercially viable oil and gas deposits using 2D/3D 
seismic data to analyze subsurface fluid positions and pathways within 
basin architecture. A multichannel reflection 2D seismic dataset from 
offshore Malvinas Islands identified direct hydrocarbon indicators 
(DHIs) and basin features, leading to the discovery of vertical anomaly 
clusters (VACs) in the east Malvinas Basin, which are linked to vertical 
hydrocarbon migration within fine-grained sequences. Further analysis in 
the South Malvinas Basin revealed DHIs like bottom simulating 
reflections (BSR), pipes, gas chimneys, and flat spots, showing a 
connection between migration styles and basin features. The study also 
examined depression structures in the northeast Malvinas Basin, 
interpreted as mud volcano conduits. The research proposes a 
classification of DHIs based on permeability architecture, with two 
styles: permeability-controlled and fluid-controlled DHIs, and suggests 
hypotheses linking migration processes to deep structure geometry and 
time evolution.
