Espero se encuentren muy bien.
   
  Por este medio, quisiera recordarles que desde el grupo de investigación
"Astrophysics with Large Astronomical Surveys" (ALAS[1]) nos encontramos
organizando un curso sobre ajuste de distribucion espectral de energia
(SED, por sus siglas en inglés), a cargo del Dr. Roberto Cid Fernandes, de
la Universidad de Santa Catarina (Brasil). A los fines de dicha
organizacion, agradeceriamos a quienes se encuentren interesados en
asistir, Y QUE AUN NO LO HAYAN HECHO, me envien un mensaje
a asmith en fcaglp.unlp.edu.ar manifestando su interes a la brevedad.
   
  Al pie les dejo la informacion con la que contamos hasta el momento sobre
el mencionado curso. La idea es organizar un doodle con los interesados a
fin de decidir los horarios mas convenientes para la mayoria.

    SPECTRAL SYNTHESIS OF STELLAR POPULATIONS IN GALAXIES
   14-18 OCTOBER 2024 - FCAG
    
   Galaxy spectra and/or multi-band photometry are the major source of
knowledge about galaxy evolution through cosmic times. The translation of
observed fluxes to physical properties like stellar masses, mean stellar,
metallicities, and the star formation history involves several
astrophysical ingredients and mathematical/methodological issues. Basic
knowledge of these topics is necessary for a minimal understanding of a
large part of the current (and past) literature on extragalactic
astronomy. These series of lectures cover these topics. The aim is not to
present the latest, more sophisticated spectral synthesis tools in the
field, but, instead, to ensure the students have a basic understanding of
the ingredients, assumptions, and limitations of such tools. THE COURSE
WILL CONSIST OF FOUR LECTURES OF 2 HOURS, PLUS FOUR ~ 1 HOUR LECTURES FOR
PRACTICAL (JUPYTER NOTEBOOK-BASED) WORK.
