Detection of mining induced microseismicity by deep learning
Description of the project.
The general objective of the project is to develop decision-support tools
to ensure the safety of personnel and to optimize the operation of
underground mines based on microseismic monitoring. More specifically, the
aim is to improve the resolution of mining induced seismicity monitoring,
especially for low magnitude events, in order to infer changes in stress
state and to estimate the associated risk.
The design and development of a neural network for event detection is at
the core of the project, which also includes the training of the network
with real data and previously generated synthetic data, and the evaluation
of the learning transfer to assess the robustness of the algorithm for
different mining sites."
