Desde el capítulo estudiantil de la *EAGE-UNLP*, queremos invitarles a toda
la comunidad a la siguiente webinar, a realizarse este Jueves 4 de Junio a
las 9am Argentina:


*Seismic inversion for reservoir properties*

*Lecturer: Patrick Connolly *

*Seismic inversion results can be improved by integrating the seismic with
a broader range of additional information and by quantifying the
uncertainty of that information. Hence direct probabilistic inversion to
reservoir properties, typically utilising a Bayesian framework, offers
significant benefits over traditional inversion methods that first estimate
elastic properties.*

*In this talk the principles behind this approach will be discussed and
describe in detail a recently developed application now being used by many
oil companies. An introduction to Bayesian methods will be covered as well
as aspects of AVO analysis, rock physics and signal processing and show
examples of application to a number of reservoirs.*

*Target audience: **Anyone interested in seismic processing, analysis or
interpretation.*
Biography Patrick Connolly:

Patrick retired from BP in 2015 as their Senior Advisor for Geophysical
Analysis.  During his career he has had positions in technology management,
R&D project leadership, analysis and interpretation in exploration and
appraisal teams, programming and data processing.  He was a 2010 SEG
Distinguished Lecturer, a 2007 EAGE Distinguished Lecturer and was awarded
the 2001 SEG Virgil Kaufman Gold Medal for his development of elastic
impedance.  He now works as in independent consultant primarily providing
training courses in seismic reservoir characterization.
