Dear F2 users,

We would like to let you know about a bug on the F2 data headers that 
affects mutiple-read data. There is an inconsistency between two header 
keywords: LNRS and NREADS.

In all cases NREADS reports the actual number of pair (initial and final) 
non-destructive reads. The following table shows the reported values 
depending on the readmode employed:

LNRS = NREADS =1 for Bright Object Mode
LNRS=2, NREADS=4 for Medium Object Mode
LNRS=6, NREADS=8, for Faint Object Mode

We are attaching a script that will fix the headers. We do not expect to 
fix this header bug before the instrument is off the telescope by mid 
March. We expect that new F2 data taken after F2 goes back to the 
telescope in May will have the correct headers. Moreover, we expect that 
by that time all data in the GSA will also have the correct headers.

Please be aware that the F2 reduction package uses the LNRS header value 
as is.  Therefore, until the LNRS header issue has been fixed, users must 
run the corrective script before using the F2 data reduction software, 
otherwise the data will not be reduced correctly.
