Science Science Research Intern

 Gemini North has an opening for a research intern to work with Dr.
André-Nicolas Chené on the analysis of data from the VISTA variables
survey. The duration of the internship will be 4 months, starting in
September or October 2014.

The intern will process and analyze the near infrared photometry, and
extract and classify the spectra of stellar members of young Galactic star
clusters. The successful applicant will have good English communication
skills, including being able to clearly document performed work. Students
with prior experience with UNIX/Linux/MacOS-X and astronomical data
reduction using IRAF will be given preference.
