LAPIS 2012: "Millimeter/submillimeter astronomy with LLAMA"

We are organizing the IV La Plata International School on Astronomy and 
astrophysics (LAPIS) to be held in August 13-17, 2012, in the Facultad de 
Ciencias Astronómicas y Geofísicas de la Universidad Nacional de La Plata, in 
the city of La Plata, Argentina. The School is jointly organized by the 
Facultad de Ciencias Astronómicas y Geofísicas de la Universidad Nacional de La 
Plata and the Instituto Argentino de Radioastronomía, CONICET.

With the title "Millimeter/submillimeter astronomy with LLAMA", the aim of the 
school is to introduce undergraduate and graduate students as well and young 
researchers in specific areas linked to observations and results of millimeter 
and submillimeter studies of the interstellar dust and molecular gas, taking 
into account both lectures and  exercises based on molecular data. The School 
is aimed to students, doctoral students and recent post-docs in physics and 
astronomy. A limited number of student poster presentations will be allocated, 
which give the students the opportunity to interact with professors.

The School will focus on the following topics:

- Instrumentation
- Circumstellar envelopes
- Star forming regions
- Molecular outflows
- Shock chemistry
- Interstellar masers
- Circumstellar disks
- Molecular gas in the MCs

Registration

School places are limited to 60 people. Priority will be given to participants 
working in the field and to those making presentations related to the subject 
of the School.

Important dates are:

June 1st: Deadline for registration
June 15th: Deadline for Abstract submission for poster presentations. Due to 
space restrictions the number of posters will be limited to sixteen.
