Charla invitada del Dr. Bjorn Ursin en la FCAGLP.

Tema: Procesamiento, modelado e inversión de datos sísmicos.

El Dr. Ursin es un destacado investigador en geofísica aplicada reconocido 
mundialmente. Actualmente es profesor en la Norwegian University of 
Science and Technology, Department of Petroleum Engineering and Applied 
Geophysics.

Breve biografía:

He received his Msc (1970) and PhD (1976) in electrical engineering at the 
Norwegian Institute of Technology. In 1971 he was awarded a Diplome 
d'Etudes Approfondies in applied mathematics at the University of 
Grenoble. Since 1975 he has held research management positions with GECO, 
SINTEF, Merlin Profilers and SERES, before being appointed professor of 
Applied Geophysics at the Norwegian Institute of Technology (now NTNU). He 
has been visiting professor at the Federal University of Bahia in 
Salvador, Brazil, the State University of Campinas, Brazil, Karlsruhe 
University, Germany, Politecnico di Milano, Italy, and Colorado School of 
Mines, USA. Since September 2006 he is Statoil Research Professor at NTNU.

His research interests are in data processing, modeling and inversion of 
seismic and electromagnetic data, parameter estimation techniques and 
inverse theory.
