Dear colleague,

We would like to bring to your attention that the Astronomical
Observatory of Trieste (INAF) has an opening for one Postdoctoral
position in Astrophysics. The successful applicant will work on any
line of research which is presently developed at the Observatory (see
http://www.oat.ts.astro.it/astro/laricerca_prog_en.html and
http://www.oat.ts.astro.it/astro/gente2.html), and she/he would have
the benefits provided by the rich scientific environment of the
Trieste area, including the University of Trieste and Udine, SISSA,
INFN, ICTP, Area di ricerca etc.  Ricerca etc.  A copy of the

foreseen renewal for a second year, subject to a performance review at
the end of the first year and to the availability of funds, and is
expected to start in the period February-September 2007.  The gross
amount is 20000 Euros, with additional 10000 Euros for non-Italian
applicants from abroad. Applications (see the two forms in attachment),

assoon as possible.  Candidates should have obtained a Ph.D.
inastronomy, physics or equivalent.  Candidates should arrange for
atleast two letters of reference to reach the Observatory of Trieste
bythe same date.  Deadline for applications is November 30, 2006.The
Astronomical Observatory of Trieste is an Affirmative
