Take the survey by 30 September

A gentle reminder that the IAU Equity and Inclusion Survey 2026 [2] will
close on 30 September.

We extend our sincere thanks to all who have already completed the
survey.

If you have not yet submitted your response, we warmly invite you to
participate [3] in this anonymous, 15-minute survey aiming to identify
and address the barriers faced by astronomers with disabilities, helping
shape targeted actions and inclusion programs across the Union and local
astronomical communities.

Why Participate?

The initiative addresses key goals outlined in the IAU Recommendations
for Improving Equity, Inclusion and Diversity in Astronomy [5], which
arose from IAU Symposium 358 [6] ("Astronomy for Equity, Diversity and
Inclusion"). To build a truly inclusive community, collecting direct,
evidence-based insights on the real-world experiences and support
mechanisms of IAU Members is essential.

About the Research Partnership

The survey is part of the professional study “Research on the barriers
faced by astronomers with disabilities who are members of the IAU”
conducted through a partnership between the Faculty of Political and
Social Sciences of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM)
and the IAU. A comprehensive final report, scientific publications, and
preliminary findings will be presented at the IAU General Assembly 2027
[7] in Rome.

Your contribution is critical to building an accessible astronomical
community for everyone. We thank you for taking time to participate in
