* Postdoctoral Research Position on Gravitational Wave Cosmology with LSST
at Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María, USM, Chile*

We invite applications for a 2-year postdoctoral research position focused
on gravitational-wave (GW) cosmology and large-scale structure. The
successful candidate will work under the supervision of Antonio
Montero-Dorta (Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María, Santiago, Chile)
in close collaboration with M. Celeste Artale (Universidad Andrés Bello,
Chile) and Raul Abramo (Universidade de São Paulo, Brazil).

The position is part of a research program aimed at leveraging the synergy
between next-generation gravitational wave observatories and the Vera C.
Rubin Observatory's Legacy Survey of Space and Time (LSST). The
postdoctoral researcher will contribute to developing the theoretical and
statistical framework needed to constrain the Hubble constant H₀ using dark
sirens — binary black hole mergers whose sky localization is matched with
galaxy catalogs — and to building realistic large-volume mock GW catalogs
that incorporate the relevant astrophysical and cosmological uncertainties.
The project offers ample opportunities for independent research and for
establishing international collaborations across the team's network. The
position offers a competitive salary and research support.

Applicants with expertise in cosmology, large-scale structure, or numerical
simulations are encouraged to apply, even if they have limited prior
experience in GW cosmology.

*Required qualifications:*

   - PhD in astrophysics, cosmology, or a closely related field (completed
   or near completion)
   - Experience with cosmological simulations (N-body, hydrodynamical, or
   semi-analytic models)
   - Strong background in cosmology and large-scale structure, including
   the analysis of cosmological simulations
   - Proficiency in scientific programming (Python or equivalent)
   - Good communication skills and ability to work in an international,
   collaborative environment.


*Desirable qualifications (but not required):*

   - Familiarity with gravitational wave astrophysics or GW data products
   - Experience with galaxy survey data analysis pipelines
   - Knowledge of the LSST Science Pipelines or DESC collaboration tools
