News about the International Day of Light 2024 for national nodes 


Dear IDL National Node Contact 

We hope you are keeping well, and we would like to thank you for your continued support of the International Day of Light. We have now collated statistics from our 2024 campaign, and you can [ https://lightday.us15.list-manage.com/track/click?u=c8c821e196c8c97b05e919d36&id=5a820d63d8&e=773971c1ea | download our infographic here. ] We will shortly be releasing our Launch Newsletter for the 2025 International Day of Light, and will be opening up our registration page for 2025 events in early December. 

We also wanted to provide you with advance notice of the 2025 theme covering the very broad topic of Light, Innovation, Society. This naturally touches upon many different areas of science, art, and culture, and opens up many possibilities for exciting events and activities. And it is worth noting even now that the International Day of Light in 2025 falls on a Friday, so there are opportunities for events on the day or during the week before, or continuing through the weekend. And as usual, we can recognise events throughout the year. 

As we make plans for 16 May 2025, we would like to especially highlight your activities and hard work as National Node contacts. To this end, we would be delighted to have any content or news you wish to promote in our newsletter (that goes out to 1000+ subscribers.) This could relate to plans you may already have for next year, or it could describe instead some results of the 2024 edition that may inspire similar actions for 2025. More generally, the provisional newsletter schedule and deadlines are below. There is no fixed template for newsletter items, but we usually aim for 100-350 words and an image. 

December 2024 Newsletter: content due before 9 December 2024 
February 2025 Newsletter: content due before 31 January 2025 
March 2025 Newsletter: content due before 14 March 2025 
April 2025 Newsletter: content due before 18 April 2025 
May 2025 Newsletter: content due before 2 May 2025 
16 May 2025: International Day of Light Newsletter: content due before 10 May 2025
