[AAA] Segunda Escuela sobre Detección de Materia Oscura y Neutrinos [fecha límite de solicitud: 4 de mayo]

Me gustaría llamar vuestra atención sobre la Escuela de Detección de Materia Oscura y Neutrinos, que se llevará a cabo del 8 al 19 de julio en Brasil. La escuela combina introducciones teóricas a física de la Materia Oscura y de neutrinos (primera semana), con métodos avanzados de detección y experimentos de vanguardia, incluidas actividades de laboratorio para explorar los principios de detección (segunda semana). La escuela está dirigida a estudiantes avanzados de licienciatura y estudiantes de posgrado interesados en los campos de la Materia Oscura y la física de neutrinos, independientemente de su orientación teórica o experimental. También se considerarán aplicaciones de posdoctorados y profesionales en etapas iniciales. No hay tasa de inscripción y hay fondos disponibles para cubrir parcial o totalmente el costo de participación de estudiantes seleccionados, especialmente de países de sudamérica y otros países en desarrollo.

The aim of the school is to introduce the students to the field of particle Dark Matter and Neutrino Detection, share the excitement on model building and detection methods, and prepare the next generation to contribute to this endeavor. It will be composed of courses and lectures on advanced topics, with significant time for questions/discussions and practical hands-on activities. The labs which demonstrate techniques used in real experiments are a key part of the school.

The first week will take place in the IFT-UNESP auditorium and will give a general introduction to the fields of Dark Matter and neutrino physics with a more theoretical focus, providing the basis to address the detection methods. The second week will take place at the Principia Institute and will focus on detection techniques and specific experiments, with most of the afternoon dedicated to experimental work in small groups.

There is no registration fee and limited funds are available for travel and local expenses.
