Dear Colleagues,

We are looking for candidates for one postdoctoral position in the
astrophysics of Cepheids in binary systems at the Nicolaus Copernicus
Astronomical Center in Warsaw.
The goal of the project is to determine physical, atmospheric, and
multiplicity properties for a large sample (60+) of newly discovered
Cepheids in spectroscopic and eclipsing binary systems, and study the
binary interactions between the components. The study will be done in
the context of distance determination and the Hubble tension. Possible
tasks: spectral analysis (including SED fitting and metallicity
determination), modeling of selected Cepheids in eclipsing binary
systems, modeling of pulsation properties of Cepheids, a study of the
evolution of Cepheids and their companions (also binary evolution),
identification and characterization of companions, among others. Related
personal projects will also be welcome.
