We would like to formally invite everyone to get involved with the 2023 Dark
and Quiet Skies project <https://www.iau.org/public/darkskiesawareness/>
this May. The programme includes many events throughout the month to raise
awareness of the importance of dark and quiet skies for human health, the
environment and our cultural heritage. As part of the programme, we will be
hosting a seminar on the cultural relevance of dark and quiet sky protection
<https://oaoseminar2023.eventbrite.com> and a smartphone astrophotography
workshop.

You may have heard of this offering for the public, but we are providing
our IAU Family and invited guests exclusive access to “train the trainers”
smartphone astrophotography workshops. Our hope is that you will be better
equipped to spread this knowledge within your own communities after

celebrate and advocate for dark and quiet skies. You can find inspiration
