symbiotic stars

Tema: Analysis of multi-wavelength observations of symbiotic binaries 
to study the accretion mechanism onto the white dwarfs and their 
different types of outbursts.

Descripción Tema Beca: Multi-wavelength study of symbiotic stars and 
their accretion mechanism using data from X-rays and optical 
instruments. The proposed project is designed to take the next step on 
our understanding of the physics of symbiotic stars by performing a 
comprehensive study of their properties, such as their population in the 
Milky Way and other galaxies in the local group; their source of power; 
the accretion mechanism onto de compact object; the mechanism behind 
different outbursts and their likelihood of becoming Supernova Type Ia.
