The Astrophysics Group at Universidad Andres Bello (UNAB) is receiving
applications for the 2019 Phd Program.


UNAB is a private university Santiago, Chile, which host a friendly and
challenging research environment where PhD students can develop
leading-edge projects in observational and theoretical astrophysics.


The Astrophysics Group is located at Campus Casona, a relaxing and green
campus where students have the required infrastructure and enjoy the view
of the Andes Cordillera.


The research group at UNAB has access to the state-of-the-art observational
infrastructure in Chile and observational datasets (e.g. MaNGA, APOGEE,
VVV, PESSTO)  as well as the latest galaxy formation models. The Numerical
Astrophysics research line  is part of the LACEGAL_II Network, with the
centre of excellence in Europe. LACEGAL_II provides the possibility to
carry out secondments as part of the PhD research program in Numerical
Astrophysics.


Applicants are requested to submit an Expression of Interest, which must
include a 1-page cover letter indicating PhD project(s) of interest and
motivation to study in Chile, a detailed C.V. and academic transcripts
following the instructions on the application website by *March 31,

*S*hortlisted applicants will be interviewed. Successful candidates will
start the program by August 2019. PhD scholarships are available, covering
