Join the IAU100's Celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Moon Landing!

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of an important milestone in space
exploration and humankind - the 1969 Apollo 11 moon landing - IAU100 has
set up a dedicated website

to
coordinate global events and large moon observation activities, including
the launch of a telescope competition.

website includes information about the event, highlights of special
activities, news updates and resources for event organisers (including
visuals and educational resources). A list of registered events

can
be viewed on this website, and event organisers can also submit an activity
of their own. We encourage everyone to officially register an activity

that
involves the celebration of the moon, including those pertaining
specifically to the anniversary of the moon landing on and around 20 July
2019.

To coincide with the website’s launch, IAU100 has also launched another
telescope contest. Thanks to the support of SSVI

we invite everyone to submit an application to win a telescope that can be
used for the IAU100 moon landing celebrations event in July 2019.
Applications are open to all countries, and priority will be given to
activities that take gender and minority populations into account and those
that pay special attention to the inclusion of girls and those with
disabilities in astronomy. Applications will be accepted until 3 May

We also encourage event organisers that are planning large-scale events to
directly contact the Moon Landing 50 global event coordinator, Bethany

visibility and outreach opportunities.
