Desde el Comité organizador queremos acercarles la tercera circular
conteniendo información importante.

Se espera que este evento sea de gran importancia pues ya contamos con
aproximadamente 120 inscriptos, de los cuales 50 han solicitado
charlas y 20  posters. Debido a la gran cantidad de charlas requeridas
y a la escasa disponibilidad de tiempo? para las mismas, el comité
científico analizará cuales de ellas pasarán a poster. Se enviarán
emails personalizados dando a conocer las decisiones.

   Adicionalmente el Taller contará con 2 charlas para todo público y
con el minicurso  ?Obtención y Reducción de curvas de luz de
asteroides?  dictado por el Dr. Melita del IAFE. El cual estará
especialmente orientado a estudiantes sin experiencia, que deseen
desarrollarse en esta área. Aquellos interesados en el curso, por
favor enviar un correo electrónico a esta dirección con asunto:
?MINICURSO? y especificando si poseen Notebook. No olviden que tenemos
espacio físico limitado para el mismo.

El Taller comenzará el día Martes 25 de Febrero a partir de las 9 hs y
finalizará el día Viernes 28 al mediodía. Recomendamos realizar las
pertinentes reservas de pasajes aéreos y hoteles,  ya que por esas
fechas Córdoba es una ciudad altamente concurrida por turistas. Les
recordamos que los hoteles que figuran en la página web tienen un
precio preferencial acordado

evento para acceder a los descuentos (OBSERVATORIO - FEBRERO 2014)

Los fondos que disponemos de las agencias locales,  no  son
suficientes para brindar ayudas económicas. Por tanto, hasta el
momento sólo podemos ofrecer la eximición de la tasa de inscripción
(U$$15) para aquellos estudiantes que PRESENTEN TRABAJO y así lo hayan
solicitado.  Como comité  hemos hecho un gran esfuerzo para cobrar una
tasa de inscripción accesible para todos, y al ser nuestro deseo que
todos los inscriptos puedan asistir, seguiremos en la búsqueda de más
recursos. En cuanto tengamos más novedades respecto a este tema les
notificaremos.

Todos aquellos que necesiten CARTA DE INVITACIÓN por favor envíen un
email con asunto: ?Carta de invitación?, donde deberán incluir el
idioma en el cual desean se encuentre escrita  la carta:
Ingles/Español/Portugues (eventualmente, pueden incluir un borrador
con el texto que encuentren necesario).

En la próxima circular informaremos sobre el tamaño de los posters a
presentar y el cronograma de actividades.

Third Announcement
Taller de Ciencias Planetarias  2014

Dear participants,

This is the third announcement of the ?Taller de Ciencias Planetarias
2014" to be held in Córdoba (OAC), Argentina, from February  25 to
February 28, 2014.

Almost 120 inscriptions have been received, together with 50 requests
for oral presentations and 20 posters. Next week the SOC will begin
preparing the final schedule. Due to time limitations, it is possible
that some talks will be moved to the poster session. However, every
effort will be made to keep this number to a minimum.

Apart from the regular sessions, there will be two conferences for the
general public, given by Julio Fernandez and Richard Branham. There
will also be a short course on the "Production and Reduction of
asteroid light curves" by Dr. Melita (IAFE, Argentina). It will be
especially aimed for undergraduate students with little or no
experience in the area. Those interested in the course, please send an
email to this address with the subject: "SHORT COURSE" and specifying
if you will be able to bring a personal Notebook. Remember we have
limited space.

The workshop will begin on Tuesday February 25th, at 9 AM, and end at
noon on Friday February 28th. We strongly recommend you make early
reservations for plane tickets and hotels; for some reason Córdoba is
a tourist attraction at that time of the year. The hotels specified in
our web site (http://tcp2014.oac.uncor.edu/alojamientoc.html) have
agreed to gave us a preferential price, and you should mention the
event in order to access to the discounts (OBSERVATORIO - FEBRERO 2014).

The funds we have obtained from local funding are insufficient to
grant economic aid, either to young researchers or graduate and
undergraduate students. At most, we can offer to waive the
registration fee (U$$ 15) in the case of undergraduate students that
will present a talk/poster.  We are still waiting to hear from other
local agencies. As we get more news on this subject we let you know .

All those requiring an INVITATION LETTER, please send an email with
subject: "Invitation Letter" to this address. Also specify the
language of the letter: English / Spanish / Portuguese (eventually you
may also include a draft of the text you need).

The next circular will contain the size of the posters and the
schedule of activities.
