      Third La Plata International School on Astronomy and Geophysics

 ?Chaos, diffusion and non-integrability in Hamiltonian Systems ?
 Applications to Astronomy"

La Plata,  July 11-15, 2011

The Facultad de Ciencias Astronómicas y Geofísicas of the Universidad
Nacional de La Plata (La Plata Observatory) announces the third edition of
the La Plata International School on Astronomy and Geophysics.

These schools are primarily aimed at introducing advanced undergraduate
and postgraduate students, as well as young researchers to very challenging
issues of contemporary research. Each school faculty is integrated by of
widely recognized researchers in the field.
Students will have ample opportunity to interact with Professors and time
will
be allocated for student?s presentations.

This third school will be devoted to "Chaos, diffusion and non-integrability
in
Hamiltonian Systems ? Applications to Astronomy" and includes topics such
as fundamental concepts; theoretical  and mathematical tools; chaos and
resonance in the Solar System, in exoplanets, as well as in elliptical
galaxies;
diffusion theories; and many other open  problems, namely "the stability
problem",  which nowadays are essential to understand many aspects of the
dynamics of multidimensional Hamiltonian systems that directly impact
on dynamical astronomy and many other branches of astronomy and
astrophysics.

The School courses and lectures will provide a comprehensive introduction to
all these phenomena and to the latest developments in this fast-evolving
field.
