SECOND PIRE-ACT SCHOOL:

"The Large Scale Structure-CMB connection"

Santiago, Chile, 19-23 March 2007

The main lecturers are:

- Raul Jimenez (Penn)
- Licia Verde (Penn)
- David Spergel (Princeton)
- Eric Gawiser (Rutgers)
- Enrique Gaztanaga (IEEC)
- Ravi Sheth (Penn)
- Mariangela Bernardi (Penn)

The lectures will cover the following themes:
----------------------------------------------

- Cosmic Microwave Background.
- Integrated Sachs-Wolfe Effect.
- Sunyaev-Zeldovich Effect.
- Cosmological parameters -- Dark Energy.
- Galaxy Formation at low and high redshifts.
- Galaxy Clustering at low and high redshifts.
- Halo model.

- In addition, there will be problems sessions where students will
put the lectures into practice by solving sets of problems provided
by the lecturers.  Also, participants are welcome to present posters.  
The School lectures will be aimed at advanced PhD students and young
postdocs, with previous knowledge on general Cosmology.

- Due to space limitations, this school is limited to a total of
50 students.  We therefore recommend that you register as soon as 
possible.

- FINANCIAL aid is available for Princeton, Rutgers, UPenn, UKZN,
and PUC students.  However, there will also be support for students 
from other institutions; this must be requested to the LOC in the 
application form.

- The deadline for applications is January 31, 2007

- A Second announcement will be sent shortly thereafter.

The Second PIRE-ACT School "The Large Scale Structure-CMB Connection"

P. Universidad Catolica de Chile, Princeton University, and 
University of Pennsylvania.
