COMET P/2014 D2 (CATALINA-PANSTARRS) = 2005 EL_284
S. Nakano, Sumoto, Japan, writes that he has identified minor planet 2005
EL_284 (cf. MPS 130298) with comet P/2014 D2 (cf. CBET 3818). The residuals
in 2005 were +0.03 deg off from a prediction by Nakano from the 2014 orbit,
with a Delta(T) correction of +0.13 day. The object was reported on single
nights at three different observatories (only) in 2005, including on images
taken by M. E. Van Ness with the LONEOS 0.59-m Schmidt telescope on Mar. 11,
via the LINEAR survey on Mar. 17, and by G. Garradd with the Uppsala Schmidt
telescope at Siding Spring on July 11. The March observations from 2005 are
tabulated below:

by G. V. Williams (from 75 observations spanning 2005 Mar. 11-2014 Mar. 27),
appear on MPEC 2014-F71.
