COMET P/2012 F4 (CATALINA)
Giovanni Sostero, Povoletto, Italy, reports the recovery of comet P/2005
JY126 (cf. IAUCs 8537, 8539) on images taken remotely by N. Howes, E. Guido,
A. Tripp and himself on Mar. 21.6 UT with the 2.0-m f/10 Ritchey-Chretien
"Faulkes Telescope South" at Siding Spring; stacked R-band exposures taken in
good seeing show that the object appears slightly "soft" compared to the nearby
field stars of similar brightness. Follow-up R-band exposures taken remotely
by Guido, Howes, Sostero, and Tripp with a 0.25-m f/3.4 reflector that is part
of the iTelescope network near Mayhill, NM, U.S.A., show only a stellar aspect,
even when stacking images. The astrometry provided by Sostero is given below.
The indicated correction to the prediction on MPC 69904 is Delta(T) = +0.01
day.
