SUPERNOVA 2012do
     A. J. Drake, S. G. Djorgovski, M. J. Graham, A. Mahabal, and R. Williams,
California Institute of Technology; J. L. Prieto, Princeton University; M.
Catelan, Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile; and S. M. Larson and E.
Christensen, Lunar and Planetary Laboratory, University of Arizona, report the
discovery of an apparent supernova in unfiltered Catalina Sky Survey (CSS)

Further CSS magnitudes for 2012do: May 22.33 UT, [18.9; June 13.23, 18.4.

     L. Tomasella, S. Benetti, E. Cappellaro, P. Ochner, A. Pastorello, M.
Turatto, and S. Valenti, Osservatorio Astronomico di Padova, Istituto
Nazionale di Astrofisica, report that a spectrogram of 2012do, obtained on
July 16.91 UT with the Asiago 1.82-m Copernico Telescope (+ AFOSC; range
340-820 nm; resolution 2.4 nm), suggests that it is a normal type-Ia supernova.
Cross-correlation with a library of supernova spectra via the "Supernova
Identification" code (SNID; Blondin and Tonry 2007, Ap.J. 666, 1024) shows that
2012do is similar to several normal type-Ia supernovae at about two weeks
after maximum at a redshift about 0.054.
