COMET P/2011 V1 (BOATTINI)
     A. Boattini reports his discovery of a comet with fairly
strong condensation and a 4" coma (but no visible tail) on CCD
images taken on Nov. 1 with the 1.5-m reflector at Mount Lemmon
(discovery observations tabulated below). Pre-discovery Mount
Lemmon observations from Oct. 22 were then found at the Minor
Planet Center. After posting on the NEOCP webpage, other CCD
astrometrists confirmed the cometary appearance (details on CBET
2893).

The initial astrometry was published on MPEC 2011-V13; revised
osculating orbital elements by G. V. Williams from 23 observations,
Oct. 22-Nov. 3 (cf. MPC 77019): epoch 2011 Apr. 29.0 TT, T = 2011
May 12.1831 TT, q = 1.711668 AU, e = 0.551535, Peri. = 259.6698 deg,
Node = 60.1425 deg, i = 7.3741 deg (equinox 2000.0), P = 7.46 years.

254P/2010 T1 (McNAUGHT)
     M. Meyer, Limburg, Germany, has identified observations of
comet P/2010 T1 (cf. IAUC 9172) on NEAT images obtained at Palomar
on 2001 Oct. 23.5 (when the comet was slightly diffuse) and Dec.
18.4 UT, as well as a single trail on a Digitized Sky Survey image
obtained with the 1.2-m Schmidt telescope at Siding Spring on 1980
Oct. 5; the identity of the astrometry (published on MPC 76729) was
confirmed by S. Nakano (Sumoto, Japan) and by G. V. Williams (Minor
Planet Center), leading to the assignment of the permanent number
254P to this comet. Orbital elements by Nakano suggest T = 1980
Sept. 25.59, 1990 Oct. 15.69, 2000 Oct. 9.30, and 2010 Oct. 26.64
