SUPERNOVA 2009ln
     T. Kryachko and B.Satovskiy, Astrotel Observatory, Kazan State University,
report the discovery of an apparent supernova (mag approximately 18.2) on five
300-s unfiltered images (limiting mag 21.5) taken on Nov. 18.73 UT with a
Takahashi 30-cm telescope (+ Apogee Alta U9000 CCD camera) at Karachay-
Cherkessia, Russia. The new object is located at R.A. = 3h07m56s.50 +/- 0".1,
Decl. = +16d21'45".5 +/- 0".1 (equinox 2000.0), which is about 7".8 west and
2".5 south of the center of the apparent host galaxy (position end figures
56s.98, 48".0). Nothing is visible at this position on a Palomar Sky Survey
image, via the Digitized Sky Survey (DSS), from 1991 Oct. 16 (limiting blue
mag 21.5). The discovery image has been posted at the following website URL:
http://www.makhaon.com/_files/suspect.jpg. Following posting on the Central
Bureau's unconfirmed-objects webpage, L. Elenin reports confirmation of the
new stellar object at mag 18.6 on an unfiltered CCD image obtained on Nov.
21.41 by M. Schwartz with his "Tenagra II" 81-cm telescope, the position end
figures for 2009ln measured by Elenin to be 56s.52, 45".3. Elenin adds that
nothing is visible at this position on DSS images from 1955 Oct. 24 (limiting
blue mag 19) and 1989 Nov. 4 (limiting red mag 19.5).
