SUPERNOVA 2009gt IN NGC 3106
     Further to CBET 1861, A. J. Drake, S. G. Djorgovski, A. Mahabal, M. J.
Graham, and R. Williams, California Institute of Technology; M. Catelan,
Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile; E. C. Beshore, A. Gibbs, and S. M.
Larson, Lunar and Planetary Laboratory, University of Arizona; and E.
Christensen, Gemini Observatory, report the CRTS discovery of an apparent
supernova in unfiltered Catalina Sky Survey (CSS) images:

SN 2009 UT R.A. (2000.0) Decl. Mag. Offset
 2009gt June 25.17 10 04 06.78 +31 12 29.3 16.1 20" E, 79" N

Nothing was visible at this position on a CSS image from May 24.21 UT
(limiting mag 19.7). After posting on the Central Bureau's unconfirmed-
objects webpage, M. Nissinen and V.-P. Hentunen (Varkaus, Finland) write
that confirming unfiltered images were obtained remotely with a GRAS
Observatory 30-cm telescope (+ SBIG ST8E CCD camera) near Mayhill, NM,
U.S.A., on June 26.17; they report the new object at red mag 15.6 with
position end figures 06s.81, 29".9 (offset 20" east and 82" north),
adding that nothing is visible at this position on a red Digitized Sky
Survey image (no date or limiting magnitude provided).

superseded by text appearing later in the printed IAU Circulars.
