SUPERNOVAE 2009mg AND 2009mi
     L. A. G. Monard, Pretoria, S. Africa, reports his discovery of an
apparent supernova (mag 15.4), designated 2009mi, on several unfiltered
CCD images taken with on Dec. 12.905 UT at his Bronberg Observatory. The
position for 2009mi was measured by Monard from his images and from an
unfiltered CCD image taken by J. Brimacombe (Cairns, Australia; nine
co-added 600-s images obtained remotely with a 0.51-m reflector near
Mayhill, NM, U.S.A.) on Dec. 14.358 in response to the posting on the
Central Bureau's unconfirmed-objects webpage:  R.A. = 5h52m38s.23, Decl. =
-17o47'02".5 (equinox 2000.0), which is 20" east and 10" north of the
galaxy core of IC 2151. Nothing is seen at this position in Digitized
Sky Survey images (limiting red mag 20.5). Additional CCD magnitudes
measured by Monard for 2009mi:  Nov. 23.904, [18.7; Dec. 14.358, 15.3;
15.367, 15.2. Brimacombe has posted his image at the following website
URL:  http://www.flickr.com/photos/43846774@N02/4184646463/.
     Monard adds that SN 2009mg (cf. CBET 2071) has brightened, providing
the following unfiltered CCD magnitudes:  Dec. 9.746 UT, 16.5 (revised);
11.995, 15.9; 12.900, 15.9.
