NOVA AQUILAE 2009
Koichi Nishiyama, Kurume, Fukuoka-ken, Japan; and Fujio Kabashima,
Miyaki-cho, Saga-ken, Japan, report their discovery of a possible nova (mag
10.9) on two 40-s unfiltered CCD frames (limiting magnitude 13.3) taken on
Dec. 14.398 and 14.399 UT using a 105-mm f/4 camera lens. Seven confirming
unfiltered CCD frames (limiting magnitude 18.4) taken around Dec. 14.408
using a 0.40-m f/9.8 reflector yield mag 10.9 and the following position for
the new star: R.A. = 19h14m09s.73, Decl. = +15o16'34".7 (equinox 2000.0).
Nothing is visible at this position on their two survey frames taken on Dec.
6.417 (limiting mag 13.7) and 7.412 (limiting mag 13.6). Following posting
on the CBAT unconfirmed-objects webpage, P. Corelli (Pagnacco, Italy, 0.45-m
f/4.4 reflector) writes that his 5-s unfiltered CCD exposure taken on Dec.
14.791 yields mag 10.8 and position end figures 09s.69, 34".0; Corelli adds
that nothing is visible at this position on a Digitized Sky Survey plate
(limiting red mag approximately 21.5). Visual magnitude estimate for the
variable by W. Vollmann, Vienna, Austria: Dec. 14.710, 11.4.
