SUPERNOVA 2009cb
     A. J. Drake, A. Mahabal, S. G. Djorgovski, R. Williams and M. J. Graham,
California Institute of Technology; E. Y. Hsiao, M. L. Graham and C. J.
Pritchet, Department of Physics and Astronomy, University of Victoria; D.
Balam, Dominion Astrophysical Observatory, National Research Council of
Canada; A. Moskvitin, Special Astrophysical Observatory (SAO), Russian Academy
of Sciences; M. Catelan, Pontificia Universidad Catolica; E. C. Beshore, S. M.
Larson, Lunar and Planetary Laboratory, University of Arizona; and E.
Christensen, Gemini Observatory, report the CRTS (cf. CBET 1744) discovery
of an apparent supernova in unfiltered Catalina Sky Survey (CSS) images:

 SN 2009 UT R.A. (2000.0) Decl. Mag.
 2009cb Mar. 19.40 12 59 15.85 +27 16 41.3 19.6

Follow-up observations were performed with the Palomar 1.5-m reflector (+
Gunn g and r filters), the Plaskett 1.82-m telescope (+ Cousins R_c filter),
and the SAO Zeiss-1000 1.0-m telescope (+ R filter). Further magnitudes for
2009cb: Mar. 3.40 UT, [21.2 (CSS); 21.15, g = 19.7, r = 19.6; 23.26, R_c =
19.7; 28.29, 19.9 (CSS); 29.99, R = 19.8. The apparent host galaxy, SDSS
J125915.86+271640.7 (which has Gunn magnitudes > 21), is not visible on
any of the above images.
