SUPERNOVA 2008hv IN NGC 2765
     P. Challis, Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics (CfA), on
behalf of the CfA Supernova Group, reports that a spectrum (range 350-740
nm) of 2008hv (cf. CBET 1601), obtained on Dec. 3 UT by J. Hora with the
F. L. Whipple Observatory 1.5-m telescope (+ FAST), shows it to be a
type-Ia supernova.  The spectrum has spectral features consistent with a
normal type-Ia event in the age range of 14 to 9 days before maximum light.
