SUPERNOVA 2008bx
     T. Puckett, Ellijay, GA, U.S.A.; and R. Gagliano, Cottonwood, AZ, U.S.A.,
report the discovery of an apparent supernova (mag 15.5) on unfiltered CCD
images (limiting mag 19.3) taken with a 0.60-m reflector at Ellijay on Apr.
22.35 UT in the course of the Puckett Observatory Supernova Search.  The new
object was confirmed at mag 15.3 on images (limiting mag 19.4) taken by T.
Orff on Apr. 23.11 with a 0.60-m reflector at Ellijay.  SN 2008bx is located
at R.A. = 14h54m39s.00, Decl. = +42o01'22".5 (equinox 2000.0), which is 2".9
west and 3".3 south of the center of the apparent host galaxy.  Nothing is
visible at this position on images taken by Puckett on Apr. 9 (limiting mag
19.5).
