APPARENT NOVA IN M33
     S. Nakano, Sumoto, Japan, reports the discovery by Fujio Kabashima
(Miyaki-cho, Saga-ken, Japan) and Koichi Nishiyama (Kurume, Fukuoka-ken,
Japan) of an apparent nova (mag 17.1) in M33 on five unfiltered CCD frames
(limiting mag 19.9) taken around Sept. 18.63 UT using a 40-cm f/9.8
reflector. The new object is located at R.A. = 1h33m58s.65, Decl. =
+30o57'34".2 (equinox 2000.0); nothing is visible at this position on two
frames taken by the same observers on Sept. 10 (limiting mag 19.6) or
on the Digitized Sky Survey. Additional magnitudes for the apparent nova
by Kabashima and Nishiyama:  Sept. 18.630, 17.1; 18.677, 17.0; 18.727,
16.8; 18.739, 17.1; 18.771, 17.0; 18.787, 16.9; 18.816, 16.7; 18.830, 16.5.
Nakano finds mag 16.5 and position end figures 58s.69, 34".4 from his
measurement of the discoverers' JPEG image from Sept. 18.677. Nakano
further reports that confirming unfiltered CCD images were obtained by K.
Itagaki (Teppo-cho, Yamagata, Japan, 0.60-m f/5.7 reflector; Sept. 19.503,
mag 16.8, position end figures 58s.65, 34".4) and by K. Nishiyama, S.
Urakawa, and T. Urata (Bisei Spaceguard Center, 1.0-m f/3.0 reflector;
Sept. 19.501, B = 17.4, R = 16.2, position end figures 58s.63, 34".9).
