SUPERNOVAE 2007nm, 2007nn, 2007no, AND 2007np
     S. G. Djorgovski, A. J. Drake, A. Mahabal, C. Donalek, E. Glikman, M. J.
Graham, and R. Williams, California Institute of Technology; C. Baltay, D.
Rabinowitz, A. Bauer, R. Scalzo, N. Elman, and J. Jerke, Yale University; R.
Thomas and P. Nugent, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory; J. Hennawi,
University of California at Berkeley; A. Myers, University of Illinois at
Urbana-Champaign; A. Allan, University of Exeter; I. Steele, Liverpool John
Moores University; T. Brown, Las Cumbres Observatory Global Telescope Network;
and the Palomar-Quest (PQ) Survey Team report the discovery of four apparent
type-Ia supernovae from the real-time analysis of transients discovered in
the PQ sky survey (in SDSS g, r, i, and z bands, in which each object was
observed in at least two out of the four bands) on the nights of Oct. 8-10 UT,
with spectroscopic follow-up at the Palomar 5-m telescope on the nights of
Oct. 10 and 11.

SN 2007 UT R.A. (2000.0) Decl. Mag. z Type
2007nm Oct. 8 22 45 27.42 +10 39 32.7 19.6 0.046 Ia
2007nn Oct. 8 23 06 27.43 +09 53 42.6 19.5 0.07 Ia

2007np Oct. 10 1 58 49.66 -02 26 27.5 20.2 - Ia?

The approximate SDSS (i.e., Gunn) r-band discovery magnitudes tabulated
above are uncertain by about 0.3 mag, pending a real calibration. SN 2007nm
was near maximum, with its spectrum similar to that of 2000cx; 2007nn was
about one month past maximum; 2007no was about 9 days before maximum, its
spectrum similar to that of 1999aa; 2007np was found to be possibly a type-Ia
supernova before maximum. Additional information on these objects (and two
additional transients that appear to be active galactic nuclei) appears at
http://www.astronomerstelegram.org/?read=1234 (and /?read=1240, /?read=1244).
The transients were also posted to http://voeventnet.caltech.edu. Finding
charts and additional details can be found at http://palquest.org/transients/.
