SUPERNOVAE 2007kf, 2007ki, 2007kk
     S. Blondin, Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics (CfA), on
behalf of the CfA Supernova Group, reports that a spectrogram (range
350-740 nm) of 2007kk (cf. CBET 1096), obtained by P. Berlind on Oct.
7.37 UT with the F. L. Whipple Observatory 1.5-m telescope (+ FAST),
shows it to be a type-Ia supernova around one week before maximum light.
Cross-correlation with a library of supernova spectra using the "SNID"
supernova-identification code (Blondin and Tonry 2007, Ap.J. 666, 1024)
indicates that 2007kk is most similar to the type-Ia supernova 2006ax at
10 days before maximum. Adopting a recession velocity of 12298 km/s for
the host galaxy (from The Updated Zwicky Catalog,
http://tdc-www.harvard.edu/uzc/), the maximum absorption in the Si II
line (rest 635.5 nm) is blueshifted by roughly 12500 km/s.
Blondin et al. add that spectra of 2007kf (cf. CBET 1085) and
2007ki (cf. CBET 1090), obtained by Berlind as above on Oct. 7.12 and
7.48, respectively, shows them both to be type-Ia supernovae at several
weeks past maximum light. Cross-correlation with "SNID" indicates that
2007kf is most similar to the type-Ia supernova 2006lf at 37 days past
maximum, at an approximate redshift cz = 14000 +/- 1000 km/s, and that
2007ki is most similar to the type-Ia supernova 2002bo at 73 days past
maximum.
