SUPERNOVA 2006db
     S. Blondin, M. Modjaz, R. Kirshner, and P. Challis,
Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, report that a spectrum
(range 350-740 nm) of SN 2006db (cf. CBET 548), obtained on June 19.21
UT by M. Clakins with the F. L. Whipple Observatory 1.5-m telescope (+
FAST), shows it to be a type-IIn supernova around one week past explosion.
The spectrum consists of a blue continuum, and narrow emission lines of
the Balmer series (e.g., H_alpha, 500 km/s FWHM), characteristic of
type-IIn supernovae.
