SUPERNOVA 2007S IN UGC 5378
       T. Puckett and R. Gorelli report the discovery of an apparent supernova
(mag 16.7) on an image taken with a 0.35-m reflector at Ellijay, GA, on
Jan. 29.24 UT in the course of the Puckett Observatory Supernova Search;
2007S was confirmed at mag 16.6 by T. Orff with a 0.60-m reflector on Jan.
31.20.  The new object is located at R.A. = 10h00m31s.26, Decl. =
+4o24'26".2 (equinox 2000.0), which is 11".4 west and 0".1 north of the
center of UGC 5378.  Nothing is visible at this location on images taken
by Puckett on 2005 Dec. 29 (limiting mag 19.0).
