SUPERNOVA 2007aa IN NGC 4030
     T. Doi (Seabrook, TX, U.S.A.) reports the discovery of an apparent
supernova (mag 15.7) on sixteen 30-s CCD images obtained on Feb. 18.308
UT with a 0.40-m f/10 Cassegrain reflector (+ SBIG ST-9 camera) located
at Weimar, TX.  The new object's position was measured as R.A. =
12h00m27s.69, Decl. = -1o04'51".6 (equinox 2000.0), which is 60" east
and 68" north of the center of the apparent host galaxy's nucleus, and
just outside of the bright northern spiral arm of NGC 4030.  Doi adds
that a U.K. Schmidt F plate in the Digitized Sky Survey shows nothing
at this position (limiting red mag 22).  Additional magnitudes of 2007aa
from Doi from his CCD images:  2002 Feb. 10.32, [18; 2003 Apr. 27.24,
[18; 2005 Mar. 12.36, [18; 2007 Feb. 18.331, 15.5; 18.359, 15.4; 18.402,
15.5; 18.438, 15.6; 18.479, 15.6; 19.16, 15.6; 19.21, 15.6.  Following
posting at the Central Bureau's unconfirmed-objects webpage, S. Nakano
(Sumoto, Japan) forwards the following position end figures for 2007aa
from an unfiltered CCD exposure taken on Feb. 19.509 by K. Itagaki
(Teppo-cho, Yamagata, Japan, 0.60-m f/5.7 reflector):  27s.67, 51".7
(magnitude 15.8).  H. Naito and R. Iizuka, Nishi-Harima Astronomical
Observatory, write that they also confirmed 2007aa at red mag 15.7 on
an image obtained on Feb. 19.643 with the 2.0-m NAYUTA telescope (+
MINT with R-band filter).
