SUPERNOVAE 2007bo-2007bz
The "Nearby Supernova Factory" collaboration (P. Antilogus, J. Li,
R. Pain, R. Pereira, and C. Wu, Laboratoire de Physique Nucleaire et de
Haute Energies de Paris; C. Buton, Y. Copin, E. Gangler, and G. Smadja,
Institut de Physique Nucleaire de Lyon; G. Aldering, C. Aragon, S.
Bailey, S. Bongard, M. Childress, S. Loken, P. Nugent, S. Perlmutter,
K. Runge, R. C. Thomas, and B. A. Weaver, Lawrence Berkeley National
Laboratory, Berkeley; E. Pecontal and G. Rigaudier, Centre de Recherche
Astronomique de Lyon; R. Kessler, Kavli Institute for Cosmological
Physics, Chicago; and C. Baltay, A. Bauer, N. Ellman, D. Herrera, D.
Rabinowitz, and R. Scalzo, Yale University) reports the discovery of
twelve new supernovae in images obtained during Mar. 26-Apr. 22 UT with
the QUEST-II camera on the Palomar Oschin 1.2-m Schmidt telescope,
operated by the Palomar-QUEST Consortium (cf. CBETs 263, 768, 929).
Discovery positions and R-band magnitudes tabulated below were derived
from reductions with the USNO-A2.0 catalogue. A subsequent spectrum of
each target (range 320-1000 nm), obtained with the SuperNova Integral
Field Spectrograph (SNIFS) on the University of Hawaii 2.2-m telescope,
was used for classification, and redshifts (z) are also listed below.

SN 2007bp appears close to the galaxy MCG +01-24-19. SN 2007bz, which
is located in IC 3918 (redshift 0.022, Van Driel et al. 2000, A.Ap.
Suppl. 144, 463; via NED) was not present to mag 20.5 on images from
Apr. 4.5 UT, and it was confirmed on an image obtained on Apr. 23.5
with the SNIFS.
