style="font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">Dear
colleagues,

We are pleased to announce the Advanced Spectral-Timing,
Polarimetry, and High-Resolution Spectroscopy X-ray School for
Latin America (ASTRAL-X), which will take place in the National
University of La Plata, Argentina, from December 1 to 12, 2025.

The ASTRAL-X School is part of a series of Workshops supported
by the IAU Hands-on (I-HOW) and the COSPAR Capacity Building
programmes, and a unique opportunity for students and
early-career researchers from Latin America to dive deep into
the multidimensional aspects of X-ray astrophysics.

Participants will gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge
instruments and techniques shaping the future of research areas,
from stellar compact objects and supernova remnants to active
galactic nuclei and galaxy clusters, including high-resolution
spectra with the XRISM mission, advanced timing studies with the
NICER instrument, X-ray polarimetry with the IXPE satellite, and
hard X-rays with the NuSTAR observatory. In addition, the School
will offer lectures covering essential topics such as X-ray
astrophysics, high-energy radiative processes, and machine
learning tools.

The ASTRAL-X School will be held at the Karakachoff Building of
the National University of La Plata (UNLP), in Argentina,
providing a stimulating academic environment and the opportunity
to engage with internationally recognised, leading researchers.
The School will host more than 30 participants from Latin
America, including advanced Master’s (Licenciatura) students,
PhD students and postdocs, and early-career researchers.

The School has no Registration Fee. All selected non-local
participants will be fully accommodated at the AMAU Hotel (UNLP)
at no charge. Meals will be fully covered for all the selected
participants. Travel expenses will only be partially covered in
particular cases.

We warmly invite you to explore the School’s program, list of
Lecturers, and Application guidelines on our website: <a

The Registration deadline is July 31st.

Please share this announcement with students and colleagues
interested in high-energy astrophysics. We look forward to
receiving applications from motivated candidates across Latin
America.

With kind regards,
