lines in S-PLUS : Method
& applications"</b>, en el Salón Meridiano. El mismo estará
a cargo del <strong>Dr. Roberto Cid Fernandes (Universidade
Federal de Santa Catarina, Brasil), </strong>profesor invitado
por la<strong> </strong>Dra. Analía Smith Castelli (Grupo ALAS).

</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm;">Resumen: We present the
method we have developed to simultaneously
estimate stellar population and emission line (EL) properties of
galaxies out
of S-PLUS photometry. The method uses the AlStar code, modified to
incorporate an
empirical prior which greatly improves its ability to estimate ELs
using only
the survey's 12 bands. This is confirmed by extensive tests where
we compare
the code’s output with stellar properties derived from full
spectral fitting
and detailed EL analysis of SDSS galaxy spectra. We find that
stellar properties
are recovered to better than 0.2 dex in masses, mean ages,
metallicities and
+/-0.2 mag for the extinction. Moreover, ELs are recovered
remarkably
well for a photometric survey, with input minus output dispersions
of 0.05-0.2
dex for the equivalent widths of [OII], [OIII], Hbeta,
Halpha [NII] and
[SII], and even better for lines stronger than ~ 5 A. </p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm;"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm;">Example applications to
integrated light and spatially
resolved data are also presented, including a comparison with
independent
results obtained with MUSE-based integral field spectroscopy.
Initial results of an analogous project which
combines S-PLUS and MUSE observations will also be shown.</p>
